TDP urges Cong. to back Balayogi's wife

NEW DELHI MAY 7. The Telugu Desam (TDP) has urged the Congress to help facilitate the unanimous election of the former Lok Sabha speaker Balayogi's widow from the Amalapuram parliamentary seat. The seat fell vacant after the tragic death of the former Speaker in an air crash in March.

According to the Congress spokesperson, Abhishek Singhvi, the party president, Sonia Gandhi, will convey her response after consulting her party colleagues as well as the State leaders from Andhra Pradesh.
