More CRPF forces moved

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MAY 9. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today moved four additional companies to Gujarat to meet the increasing demand for Central paramilitary forces in the State. The movement takes the number of CRPF and Rapid Action Force (RAF) companies deployed in Gujarat to 17, a CRPF spokesperson said here today.

The CRPF had moved two companies from Gurgaon to Gujarat on Wednesday. While seven companies (five CRPF and two RAF) are already deployed in Ahmedabad for providing security in riot-hit areas, one RAF company each is deployed in Godhra, Vadodra and Surat districts. One CRPF company has been stationed in Gurgaon.
