Talking to presspersons about the recently-concluded meeting of the India-U.S. Defence Policy Group, the Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld said, "We also expressed our country's very serious concerns about the dangerous situation between India and Pakistan and the need to reduce tensions between the two countries. We made the point that war is not an option, given the dangers of escalation and the risks of uncertainty in an armed conflict between two nuclear armed powers''. There is no question that both India and Pakistan have the "capability of waging a nuclear war'', he said
