A 'security lapse'?

MANALI MAY 28. A bullet was fired inadvertently near the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee's house at Prini-Manali here by a constable on duty .

Sources said the constable, while handing over his SLR gun to a colleague on duty, by mistake pressed the trigger and fired in the air.

Police played down the incident. No police official could be contacted at Kulu. The DGP, IG-Headquarters were not in their offices in Shimla and the DIG in office said he was not aware of such an incident.
