Russia to press India, Pak. to resume dialogue

MOSCOW MAY 30 . Russia has no plans to halt the flow of arms and military hardware to India, a senior Russian diplomat said today.

An arms embargo will have little effect on the situation in the region, the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Alexander Losyukov, as telling reporters on Thursday.

``The problem today is not about imposing or not imposing an embargo,'' Mr. Losyukov said.

"What is needed above all is to get the two sides to act with restraint and halt military activity,'' he added
