A CBI spokesman said that the agency has only re-registered the report as filed by the Uttar Pradesh police, who had named the two poachers, Inaam and Meherban, and some unidentified persons. The two were arrested by the State police and a CBI team has rushed to Saharanpur to take them on remand for questioning. The case relates to the killing of three panthers at Biharigarh area of Shivalik division recently. The two poachers were arrested with the skin of the three panthers, some deer horns, a country-made pistol and a video camera. The case was registered under Section 9, 49, 49-a and 51 of the Wildlife Act, 1972, against the two and the others. According to the U.P. police, preliminary investigations had revealed that the two poachers were called to kill the panthers .
