As many as 42 persons including a three-month-old baby with cleft lips and palates would be taken for reconstructive surgery, the Collector, S.Vijaya Kumar, told The Hindu.He said a house-to-house survey was carried out to identify physically handicapped persons in the district. Around 3,128 physically handicapped persons, 1,553 deaf and dumb and 225 blind persons were identified. The Department of Health organised 67 special camps in different parts of this district with a view to providing necessary support for those identified.
