Sattar bids adieu

Islamabad June 14. Contrary to speculation, the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, today accepted the resignation of the Foreign Minister, Abdul Sattar, a proponent of Pakistan's hardline policy towards India, citing health reasons.

Mr. Sattar paid a farewell call on Gen. Musharraf after the President formally accepted his resignation, the official APP news agency reported. The acceptance of the resignation came even as newspapers here speculated that Gen. Musharraf wanted him to continue till the general elections.
