MSF backs new education policy

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM JUNE 25. The Muslim Students Federation (MSF) has extended its support to the new education policy of the State Government and has welcomed the UDF move for the improvement of education quality in the State.

Addressing a press conference here today, the president of the MSF, P.M. Sadiq Ali, said the UDF Government was able to make sweeping changes in the education sector, including changes in the examination pattern, scrutiny and valuation.

Though these moves were started by the LDF, it had failed to implement them successfully, he added.

He alleged that the SFI was opposing the reforms so as to shield the mistakes committed by the LDF during its rule.

Though the SFI was still a major force on campuses, it has changed from a students' organisation to one that blindly supported the LDF, he said.

The MSF will observe June 27 as `membership day' when it will organise campaigns on college campuses.
