HYDERABAD, JUNE 25. In simultaneous raids in Hyderabad, Tirupati and Cuddapah, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials unearthed assets worth over Rs. 1.20 crores belonging to a deputy executive engineer of the Social Welfare Department, Nookala Sankara Narayana, on Tuesday. He was working in the engineering wing of the department in Rangareddy district. The assets include two floors in a commercial complex, an apartment complex consisting of 30 flats and a penthouse, fixed deposit receipts for Rs. 8 lakhs and SB account for Rs. 1.43 lakhs. The assets were either in his name or that of his wife, father and brother. He joined the Social Welfare department as Work Inspector Grade 1 in 1992 and was promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer in May, 1994. In a similar raid, the ACB officials unearthed assets worth over Rs. 63 lakhs from a senior assistant working in the Office of Commercial Tax Officer, Samarangam Chowk, Vijayawada. The assets include three two-storeyed buildings located on Eluru Road, Bandar Road and Labbipet, another building at Lakshmipuram in Moghulrajpuram area and a commercial complex in the City's premium business area, Besant Road. Blank promissory notes for Rs. 8 lakhs were also found.
