Universe is God's creation

CHENNAI JULY 2. God, the Supreme Authority possessing unlimited powers, can carry out any act on His own volition, but is never partial nor shows favouritism or hatred towards anyone. However, He feels extremely happy with those who zealously uphold the spiritual injunctions and even helps them by extending proper guidance when needed. Likewise, He does not hesitate to punish those who violate the moral law and who cause injury to the devout and the pious, who depend on Him. When He thus deals with the evil forces none can question or challenge Him. A famous verse says that if He decides to rush to the rescue of those who seek His protection no one can prevent Him. So too, depending on his personal efforts, if a person tries to violate His directives and the Lord proposes to deal with Him, no one can stop Him. His decision is final as He declares in the Bhagavad Gita that He had already made up His mind that the evil-minded Duryodhana and his associates should die because of their sinister designs, but He used Arjuna as the "arrow" to wipe them out.

The Cosmic awe-inspiring form that the Lord (as Krishna) revealed to Arjuna (on the Kurukshetra battlefield) to remove his sudden dejection, demonstrated that the Universe is His creation, that He sustains it and destroys it ultimately. Just as flowing rivers impetuously reach the ocean and the moths, with quickened speed, rush into the blazing fire only to die, so too the wicked elements (like Duryodhana and those who abetted their heinous deeds) should get scorched outright, says the Lord Himself. Trembling at the frightening sight of warriors entering His mouth, Arjuna begged Him to explain His universal form and His actions.

Sri Adoor Asuri R. Madhavachariar, in his discourse, referred to Krishna's reply that He was the "Time" that wrecks the world and which is made manifest to destroy these multitudes of men. "Even without you, none of the warriors in the hostile ranks, shall survive", making it plain that Arjuna was but a tool in His hands. "You shall win and hence arise to conquer the foes, who for all purposes have already been slain. You enjoy the kingdom in prosperity as a result of your victory." The fact arising out of their dialogue was that a superior "will" regulates the eventuation of all incidents in the huge Divine Plan and that one should harmonise one's actions with the former.
