Samata Party workers burn Mamata's effigy

Patna July 2. Scores of Samata Party activists led by the MLA, Sribhagwan Singh, took to the streets today and burnt an effigy of the Trinmool Congress leader, Mamata Banerjee, for insisting on the Railway portfolio and rescinding the decision on bifurcating the Eastern Railway.

The activists went in a procession to the busy Dak Bunglow roundabout and burnt an effigy of Ms. Banerjee.

Later, Mr. Singh told reporters that the move initiated by Ms. Banerjee against the bifurcation of the railway was objectionable as the Union Cabinet had already given its nod to such a proposal.

In no circumstances, the party, a loyal and key constituent of the NDA, would allow habitual turncoats to blackmail the Prime Minister, he said. — PTI
