DMK leaders appear before Privileges Committee

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI JULY 5. The DMK leaders and Union Ministers, Murasoli Maran and T. R. Baalu, today appeared before the Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha, which is going into the alleged attack on the two leaders during the arrest of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M .Karunanidhi, last year.

The Committee, which is headed by the Congress leader, S. Jaipal Reddy, heard the version of the two senior leaders on the incident. The Committee would later examine the police officials against whom complaints were made.

The two DMK leaders had complained to the then Lok Sabha Speaker, G. M. C. Balayogi, of violation of their privileges and demanding action.
