Fare wars over Indian skies

NEW DELHI JULY 6. In a bid to woo rail travellers to fill in vacant seats on flights, the three main airlines in the domestic sector — Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines — have slashed fares as never before on several routes from August 1 under the Advanced Purchase Fare Scheme (Apex). The up to 64 per cent fare reduction announced by Jet Airways on Friday as "Everyone Can Fly" scheme, has been matched by Indian Airlines today.
