VHP appeal to Parliament

RANCHI JULY 7 . Stressing that it was not against Islam or liberal Muslims, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad today appealed to Parliament to give the disputed land in Ayodhya for construction of temple.

``The Narasimha Rao Government had snatched the 43-acre land through Parliament and it can give back the land for construction of the Ram temple'', the VHP president, Ashok Singhal told a press conference here.

The organisation had never said it would disobey the Court's order on the temple, he pointed out, saying, ``Parliament is a big hurdle in the construction of the temple. If our demand is not fulfilled we will create public opinion across the country to put pressure on Parliament to give in.'' — PTI
