Govt.'s special package for reviving BRL

NEW DELHI JULY 8. The Union Government has approved a special package involving Rs. 210 crores for reviving Bharat Refractories (BRL) at Bokaro.

The package includes Rs. 90 crore non-Plan loan for voluntary retirement scheme to reduce manpower to 1311 from 2,766, Rs. 55 crore non-Plan loan for clearing statutory liabilities and Rs. 35 crore equity substitution for addition, modification and replacement schemes.

In addition, there would be a moratorium on repayment of loan and interest up to 2010-11 and Rs. 30 crore Government guarantee for raising working capital, an official release said today. It also includes all existing loans as of 2000-01 amounting to Rs. 97.89 crores into equity and exemption for repayment of guarantee fee, the release added. — PTI
