ISLAMABAD July 9. The alleged attempt by a pro-Taliban outfit to assassinate the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, in April this year has taken a new twist with the Karachi Police registering a case against an inspector in the para-military force, Pakistan Rangers.

The police have named the Rangers Inspector, Wasim Akhtar, as one of the conspirators in the April 26 plot. On Monday, the police had charged three activists of the Harkat- ul- Mujahideen for a series of blasts.
