The Chief General Manager, Telecom, BSNL, J&K circle, P.C. Chhabra told reporters that with the commissioning of the link, the stability of communication between two stations in this border State has been ensured and calls made through this link will get matured immediately, not get disconnected and the quality of speech will be excellent. He said work on this project had been going on for the last three-and-a-half years to cover a distance of about 300 kms between the two capital cities. In addition, OFC link from Srinagar to Leh is also in progress, he said, adding this is being executed with the help of army authorities. Mr. Chhabra said the Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Government, has agreed that digging, laying of cable and reinstatement of roads will be done by BSNL itself so that the roads lying unattended to after laying of cables could be avoided. --PTI
