To overcome the shortage of computer teachers in far-flung areas in the State, 200 teachers, including two from every zone, are receiving training through DOEACC, he said addressing a meeting here. Mr. Shafi said steps were being taken to provide at least 20 computers in every higher secondary school to accommodate 40 students at a time in computer courses. The aim is to provide basic certificate course to the higher secondary students and computer literacy to the students of 9th and 10th standard, he said, adding vocational courses in computers would also be started at the college level. The government would provide a minimum of three teachers and five classrooms to a primary school and the project with the assistance of NABARD for construction of 7000 additional rooms for 2500 schools has already been started, he said. With involvement of common people a constructive educational scenario can be build up to ensure the success of Sarva Shiksha Abhyan in the State, he added. -- PTI
