Resignation accepted

NEW DELHI, JULY 11. The President, K.R.Narayanan, has accepted the resignation of the Maharashtra Governor, P.C.Alexander, with effect from July 13.

The President appointed Mr. Justice Chunilal Karsandas Thakkar, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, to discharge the functions of the Governor with effect from July 13, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique here today.
