A high-power Indian military delegation visited Russia's mega arms show in the Urals heartland this week, where the upgraded T-72M1 was unveiled. The delegation, led by Lieutenant-General Naresh Chand, Director, Air Defence, spent two days in Nizhny Tagil, 1700 km east of Moscow, to watch an impressive display of the Russian land forces combat power at the Expo Arms-2002 and conduct preliminary discussions with Russian arms exporters. The T-72M1 was a star attraction at the show, demonstrating the same fire accuracy and cross-country ability as the newest T-90S tank, which India purchased from Russia last year.
