Alexander files papers

Mumbai JULY 15. The former Governor of Maharashtra, P.C. Alexander, today filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha election as an Independent candidate. The NCP chief, Sharad Pawar, had declared his party's support to Dr. Alexander. Dr. Alexander was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal, and the NCP State chief, Babanrao Pachpute. — PTI
