Headmasters warned of action

KARIMNAGAR JULY 19. The district administration has chalked out an action plan aimed at improving the results in SSC examination in Government schools. As part of it, headmasters with outstanding performance would be felicitated, while disciplinary action would be initiated against those who fail to achieve more than 40 per cent result.

The Collector, Sumita Dawra, made these announcements at the Karimnagar divisional level meetings with headmasters of all Government schools here on Friday. The Collector announced a cash award of Rs 1,000 each to headmasters of Konaraopeta and Nimmanapalli villages for outstanding results and they would be felicitated during the Independence Day celebrations.

She said every year five headmasters would be felicitated, she said those achieving more than 90 per cent results would be given meritorious certificates during the Independence Day fete.

With respect to poor performance in the SSC, she warned headmaster of action if they achieved less than 40 per cent result. She said that teachers and headmasters should explain if more than 10 students failed in any particular subject.

Interacting with headmasters of Karimnagar division, she expressed concern over Katnapalli and Karimnagar high schools registering low percentage. Not satisfied with the explanation offered, the Collector said she would recommend deduction of one increment to both the headmasters.

Referring to the exercise of achieving cent per cent enrolment of children in schools, the Collector directed headmasters of primary schools to work in coordination with village sarpanches and ward members. The DPEP coordinator, Akramullah Khan, the ZP CEO, Penchalaiah, and others were present.
