Chinese infiltration: SP wants Govt. to `wake up'

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI JULY 19. A member of the Samajwadi Party today quoted a report in a Hindi daily as having claimed that China was staking claim to Indian territories in several sectors along the border. Raising the issue during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha, Chandra Nath Singh (SP) said that several border outposts were being claimed by China.

Demanding firm measures from the Government, Mr. Singh said the NDA Government was "sleeping over such a serious matter.'' He said the NDA Government had neither a foreign policy nor a comprehensive internal security policy. "China is claiming an area of approximately 300 sq km. of land along the border. It is indulging in infiltration in Ladakh and Uttaranchal,'' he alleged.
