Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is with reference to Hariharan Chandrashekar's article ``It's simple... No Nature, no tourism'' (Magazine, July 28), tracing the development of the tourism industry in Kerala. The author has rightly pointed out the needs of the industry. However, while the ``do nothing'' posture may be appropriate insofar as the natural resources of the State are concerned, the same approach may actually be a hindrance if extended to the infrastructure required for the tourism industry. Every effort must be made to ensure that infrastructure for easy access to various tourist destinations and power availability (on a priority basis) are improved.
