Sir, This has reference to the report, `Haj subsidy may be withdrawn for income tax payers' Aug. 5). One cannot understand the rationale of the subsidy for Haj pilgrims. Why is this guarantee given only to a particular religious community? I am a Christian and would like to know why the Government has not extended the subsidy to Christian pilgrims to visit the Holy Land? Either the subsidy should be extended to all pilgrims irrespective of their religion or it should be cancelled. Hilda Raja, Chennai
