Letters to the Editor
Sir, The conflict of interests of the individual cricket players and the need for them to conform to the International Cricket Council's players' terms for the coming Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka could have been avoided, if the players, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the ICC and the sponsors tried to sort out the problem much earlier. The game is above individuals, however high and mighty they may be. For the sake of the game, the problem of endorsement by cricket players should be sorted out amicably at least for the next round of matches involving the ICC.
D.B.N. Murthy,
Sir, It is deplorable that our cricketers have jeopardised national interests to suit their own commercial interests. They have proven that money is their ultimate objective. There is no dearth of young and talented cricketers waiting for the call. It is time the BCCI chose a young bunch of talented cricketers.
Ramesh,
