R.K. Sharma suspended

By Our Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH AUG. 23. In a significant development, the Haryana Government has suspended the controversial IPS officer, Ravi Kant Sharma, prime accused in the murder of Indian Express correspondent, Shivani Bhatnagar.

Mr. Sharma, former IGP (Prisons), is said to be at large and has failed to rejoin his duty after the expiry of his leave. The Delhi Police have already issued non-bailable warrants against him.

The Haryana Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, had asked Mr. Sharma to ``surrender'' before the Delhi Police so that ``truth may prevail''.
