Sir, Is there no sane person in the NDA to tell the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, to shut up? How can mature persons in the NDA be silent spectators to the venomous hatred spewed against constitutional cornerstones of democracy such as the Election Commission. Such slandering must not be allowed to continue at any cost. It is uncivilised, unethical and even unlawful to single out one person of a collective body for its unanimous decision, taken as part of discharging constitutionally-entrusted duties. At least the Supreme Court should intervene to stop this vilification campaign. It is shameful that at a time when the majority of our countrymen are reeling under drought on the one hand, and devastating floods, on the other, callous hate-mongers go on creating situations which have the potential of destroying whatever peace the hapless millions have.
