U.S. delegation in J&K

SRINAGAR AUG. 26. A high-level American delegation, led by Lisa Curtis, Senior Adviser to the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Christina Rocca, arrived here on a two-day visit.

The delegation, consisting of Sheetal Patel and Kailash Jha of the Political Department of the U.S. Embassy in Delhi as members, met the former chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and acting chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Javed Mir, and discussed with them the latest political situation in the Valley. The discussion centred around the coming Assembly elections, sources said.
