U.K. slams assassination

New Delhi Sept. 11. Britain today condemned the killing of the Jammu and Kashmir Law Minister, Musthaq Ahmed Lone, by militants in Kupwara where he was on an election campaign tour.

``We unreservedly condemn the assassination of Lone. We also strongly condemn all acts of violence directed at other election participants. The U.K. continues to support the holding of free, fair and inclusive elections in Jammu and Kashmir,'' the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister, Mike O'Brien said, according to a High Commission release. — PTI
