Sir, I do not agree with the solution in the article "Crisis in the handloom sector" by V. Krishna Ananth (Sept. 10). In today's "globalised" market, `swadeshi' practices cannot succeed. Also, how long are we going to support people in this manner? We will be creating yet another "public sector" culture. The best and permanent solution lies in grouping the small loom workers into a cooperative. Amul is a big example of success of this idea.
