'Sati' bid foiled, commits suicide

TIKAMGARH (Maharashtra) SEPT. 14. Barely a month after a woman committed `sati' in neighbouring Panna district, a 28-year-old woman immolated herself in Ratanguan village, about 32 km from here on Friday after her attempt to commit `sati' was foiled. Mithilesh's husband, Uttam Singh, died of burn injuries after he came in contact with a live wire at the district hospital here on September 12. — PTI
