Snag in VIPs' chopper

MADIKERI SEPT. 17. A technical snag in an IAF helicopter forced the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, and the Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh, to disembark from the chopper minutes before take-off here today.

The Ministers later travelled by road to Mangalore from where they emplaned for Delhi, official sources said.

Mr. Fernandes and Mr. Singh were on a tour of Chikamagalur and Madikeri in Kodagu. — PTI
