Couple attacked at Mandaveli

Chennai Sept. 20. A couple and an attendant of a house were attacked by a two-member gang at Norton First Street, Mandaveli, this evening. The motive behind the attack was not known. However, nothing was reported robbed, police said.

Radhakrishnan and his wife and Gopalan were injured in the knife attack. While the couple were treated as outpatients, Gopalan was admitted to a hospital and his condition was stated to be critical.

According to eyewitnesses, the gang barged into the house and attacked the inmates.

Hearing their cries for help, neighbours rushed to their rescue.

On seeing the neighbours, the assailants fled the scene.
