Letters to the Editor
Sir, The article, `The Bar Council's strike call' by P.P. Rao (Sept.17) is thought-provoking. An advocate has a duty to his client as to give his best to the case which he had undertaken to conduct and a duty to assist the court to the utmost of his skill and ability in the proper and satisfactory administration of justice. Procedures are meant to serve the cause of justice, which is truth in action, and the rule of law, essential for democracy. Awareness of the law is a pre-requisite for any aggrieved and affected citizen to file original petitions in higher courts. Yet, in most cases, the question of law involved is neither raised nor considered for arriving at the decision. In the present system, there is neither justice nor adherence to law.P.C. Nair, P.C.
