Letters to the Editor
Sir, Frequent bandh calls by political parties and even non-government organisations not only disrupt normal life but also defeat their very purpose. It only prompts a mass hysteria, resulting in violence and destruction of property. Educational institutions are forced to suspend classes and examinations, and interviews are postponed causing considerable damage to students' career. Even the police advise educational institutions to close as a preventive measure and shirk their responsibility to provide protection. These will certainly cause an unhealthy impression in the young minds. They are the future citizens and if they are to be brought up in such an atmosphere they will not be any better than our present politicians.
