Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, has said that the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat had proved that the formation of Pakistan was necessary and Pakistanis, particularly those who migrated to his country during the Partition, should be thankful that they were living in peace. If he counts the number of Muslims killed in the present Pakistan and the erstwhile East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), they would far outnumber those killed in riots in India.
