Letters to the Editor
Sir, The age-old discrimination against Dalits by upper castes continues in certain pockets of the country. Despite laws, society refuses to change with the times. The recent incident in which Dalits were prevented from entering a temple in Rajasthan is reprehensible and a blot on the Hindu society. Subjecting Dalit men and women to humiliating punishment by village elders and others is Talibanistic and should be curbed with an iron hand. The BJP, the RSS, the Bajrang Dal and others, instead of indulging in minority bashing, should focus on improving the lot of the Dalits.
D.B.N. Murthy,
