Gandhi-King award for Amritanandamayi

GENEVA OCT. 10. The prestigious Gandhi-King award for non- violence was presented to Mata Amritanandamayi at the United Nations General Assembly Hall I (Palais des Nations) here in recognition of her lifelong work in furthering the principles of non-violence.

The award is named after Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Jane Goodall, British primatologist who won the award in 2001, presented the award to Mata Amritanandamayi who has established a vast network of charitable institutions.
