New Chief Secretary assumes charge

Pondicherry Oct.15 . R. Padmanabhan, Chief Secretary of the Government of Andaman and Nicobar Islands who was transferred to Pondicherry, today assumed the charge of Chief Secretary of the Territorial Government, succeeding T. T. Joseph, transferred to the National Capital Territory of Delhi Administration.

Mr. Padmanabhan had served here as Development Commissioner and Finance Secretary before his assignment with the Andaman government nearly a year ago.

He called on the Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, who said Pondicherry had been allotted one more Secretary, Narendra Kumar, from the Delhi Administration and his departments would be finalised soon. The new Secretary had a meeting with him today, he said.
