By Our Special Correspondent
The meeting will be held in the Secretariat in the chambers of the Minister for Major Irrigation, K. Srihari, from 3 pm and will be chaired by the Minister himself. According to the Irrigation Secretary, C. V. S. K. Sarma, the Karnataka Governmment, through a letter, has sought the tribunal for implementing Scheme "B'' of the Bachawat Tribunal. The Bachawat Tribunal fixed 2001 as the year when any of the three riparian States of the Krishna, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, could have sought a review of the tribunal award which had estimated the availability in the river at 75 per cent dependability at 2,060 tmcft, and apportioned the same among the three States at 530 tmcft, 730 tmcft and 800 tmcft respectively. But, on the expiry of the time by 2001May, none of the three States petitioned for a review of the Award. However, Karnataka sought constitution of a fresh tribunal for Scheme "B'' implementation. Tomorrow's all-party meeting will finalise the view to be taken by Andhra Pradesh.
