Prisoners go on rampage

Bhadohi (U.P.) Oct. 20. About 65 people, including 50 prisoners and 15 police personnel, were injured when inmates of the district jail here clashed with the jail staff today forcing the police to open fire in the air after lathicharge failed to reign in the rampaging mob.

Trouble broke out when group of prisoners assaulted the deputy jailor and indulged in heavy stone-pelting after he refused firewood to them for cooking their food separately, official sources said. — PTI
