Blast in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU OCT. 23 . Suspected Maoist rebels today detonated a bomb here, but there was no word on injuries, police said.

The explosion took place in a business district usually packed with shoppers and itinerant workers.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, but police blamed Maoist guerillas fighting against the constitutional monarchy. — Reuters
