Kalam invited to visit UAE

Abu Dhabi Oct. 23. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has been invited by his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, to visit the Gulf country at the end of this month.

The Under Secretary in the UAE. Foreign Ministry, Saif Saeed bin Saed, handed over an invitation for Dr. Kalam to the Indian ambassador, K.C. Singh, here yesterday, an official agency reported today. The UAE would like to have the President here to address an international conference from October 28-30 but the invitation stands even for a later date.

Dignitaries, including Ministers from more than 30 countries are attending the `Dubai Strategy Forum' to discuss the situation in the region. — PTI
