8 gunned down in Tripura

Agartala Oct. 26. Eight persons, including three women and a child, were gunned down and nine others injured by suspected insurgents of banned All Tripura Tiger Force at Battila in West Tripura district today.

A group of about 12 insurgents armed with Kalashnikov rifles showered bullets on a jeep on way to Khowai sub-divisional town from Asharambari killing eight persons.

The BSF said the incident took place about two k.m.from Bachaibari border outpost and added that the ultras who were in plain clothes had sneaked in from Bangladesh.
