Jammu & Kashmir
Describing the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) formulated by the Congress, the PDP, the CPI(M) and the Panthers Party as ``old wine in new bottle'', Mr. Abdullah told `Star News' that many of these issues had been pursued by the erstwhile NC Government and several matters, including those relating to rehabilitation of people affected by militancy, were ``already in place''. Participating in the TV discussion today, the Congress leader, Kapil Sibal, reacted to this saying ``if Mr. Omar agrees that many of these things (in the CMP) are already in place, then his party should support the new government to pursue the NC agenda''. Mr. Abdullah said the PDP had gone back on its electoral promise of ``disbanding'' the SOG but only decided to reorient it, while Congress had betrayed the Jammu region with Ghulam Nabi Azad not accepting the Chief Minister's post.
