Sir, The Tamil Nadu Government's ordinance against `forced' conversions (which has since become an Act) has actually united Christians of all denominations towards a single cause and kindled their dormant emotive spirits. History has proved time and again that whenever and wherever Christianity was oppressed, it experienced an upsurge. If the intention of this law is to curb the spread of Christianity and other minority religions, the present indications are that it will have an opposite effect. Ravi T. Santosham, Chennai
