Letters to the Editor
Sir, While appreciating the Russian President, Vladimir Putin's decision to storm the Moscow theatre, Amit Agarwal, in his letter (Nov. 2), has said that had the Indian Government taken a similar stand during the Kandahar hijack episode, things would have been different. New Delhi's decision to free three terrorists cannot be faulted because the incident took place on a hostile land, where India had no support. Whereas, the siege in Moscow took place within the Russian Government's jurisdiction, and, it was at liberty to act. V.S. Jayaraman, Chennai
