`Persons killed in Ansal Plaza not from Pakistan'

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD Nov. 5. Pakistan has "categorically" rejected Indian allegations that the two persons killed by police at Ansal Plaza, a shopping mall in New Delhi, on Sunday were planning a terrorist strike at its behest to trigger communal violence.

A Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman referred to the comments attributed to the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, on the incident and asserted that "the baseless and ludicrous allegation reflects the deep anti-Pakistan malaise that afflicts the Hindu fundamentalist leadership in India".

It has become routine, especially since the December 13 Parliament attack, for India and Pakistan to point fingers at each other every time there is an incident of terrorism in each other's territory.

The spokesman said Pakistan itself was a victim of "foreign-sponsored terrorism" and had been in the forefront of international efforts to combat global terrorism.
